cap'n obvious but its worth it to ask :)

hey ya'll! I know some of you are computer-savvy and I'm pretty sure I already know the answer to this, but, here goes...
(I went ahead and starting setting up my old desktop after almost 9 months of it sitting in my closet)
monitor works fine when plugged into direct MoBo graphics card, but won't receive signal when plugged into PCI-slot graphics card. This is a brand-new VGA cable.
I'm pretty sure the Nvidia GeForce 7800 card that I have is fried, which isn't hard to believe because the computer did survive a 7-day trek across I-10 in the back of my car.
What do you think?

GUYS I AM SO PSYCHED RIGHT NOW

okay so I was wrong, I don't have a 7800 geforce I have a 7600 gegorce gt on a pci-express (durp)
also THE CABLE TO THE POWER SUPPLY WAS UNPLUGGED
also EVERYTHING WORKS AMAZING
also I got rid of that pesky windows genuine advantage software, changed my BIOS so it stopped giving me a floppy disk error, AND I cleaned my keyboard with a q-tip and its gawgeous

so proud ;_;
